Fleurs de Glycine Gite

Booking Process: 

• 25% deposit is payable, and a completed booking form should be returned to secure your Gite booking.  The deposit and final balance payments are non-refundable, so please ensure you take out comprehensive travel insurance.

• Your final balance is payable 4 weeks before arrival.  If the balance is not received by this time then your booking will be deemed cancelled, and the property will be re-advertised.

• We will honour email and telephone reservations for 48 hours, after which, if the deposit and booking form are not received, we will cancel the reservation and re-advertise the property.

• If the booking is made within 4 weeks of your proposed arrival, then the total cost of the holiday is payable at the time of your booking.

• We trust guests to treat the property with respect, so we are not worried about the odd broken glass or plate as accidents do happen.  We do however include a 200€ damage deposit in the final balance payment to cover any substantial damage to the property and/or its contents, which is fully refundable if no damages are incurred.  This sum does not limit your liability to the owners.

• At least one member of the group must be a responsible adult of 18 years or over and numbers in excess of those agreed on the booking form are not permitted without the express written permission of the owners.

• If multiple enquiries are received simultaneously, the prospective guests will be notified and the first ones to book and pay their deposit will have the booking.

• TOURIST TAX – TAXE DE SEJOUR is now payable by the guest and we must collect this at the rate of 0.97 cents per night, per adult (18 yrs. and over), this can be paid in cash or cheque on arrival.

• We also advise that you check the Terms and Conditions of the Booking Site you use as their Terms and Conditions and payment details may vary.

• Please note that prices may vary between booking sites.  We use several different sites and they all have different Services Charges that are out of our control.

 

Accommodation:

• In order that your Gite is prepared for you, please do not arrive at the Fleurs de Glycine before 4.00pm and please vacate your Gite by 10.00am on your departure day.

• Sorry no pets are allowed at Le Bourg Remy Gites, however Peggy, Molly and Betty our resident egg layers are very friendly!!

• Please note that there is NO SMOKING in the Gites. Smoking is permitted in the grounds. Please use ashtrays provided.

• All bed linen and towels are provided with a weekly change for 2-week bookings. Used linen and towels will be collected by us. Towels are only to be used in the Gites, you must provide your own beach towels for use on sun loungers. 

• Please be aware that sun creams, particularly ‘Riemanns P20’, insect repellents and some skin creams can cause staining to towels and bedding which is not always possible to remove.  To avoid this and incurring a charge against your damage deposit please ensure you shower before going to bed or using the Gite towels if using any of these products.

• Free Wi-Fi is available but please be aware we are in a rural community and the signal strength can vary at times.

• The owners shall not be liable to you or any member of your party for any loss, damage or injury incurred at Le Bourg Remy Gites, or through use of equipment or facilities.  Likewise, the owners shall not be liable for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services, nor in respect of any temporary defect in equipment or appliances in the Gite or grounds; nor for any loss, damage or injury beyond the control of the owners.  Please make sure you have appropriate travel insurance.

• Free parking is provided at the rear of the property, with a drop off/pick up point in front of the Gites.  We do not have facilities on site for charging electric cars and we not covered by our insurance to do so but there are charging points in nearby Descartes.

• Guests must report any damage or failure of equipment immediately so any replacement or repairs can be made as soon as possible.

• We aim to equip our Gites with all that you may need to make your stay as comfortable as possible but please ask if there is anything else we can assist with.

• Smoke detectors are located on each floor and they are checked prior to guest’s arrival.  Please report immediately if they bleep signifying low battery power or if they incur any damage.  Guests must not remove batteries themselves at any time.

 

Cleaning:

 

• We allow 3 hours for cleaning after your departure, if for any reason it takes us longer because the gite has been left very unclean and untidy, we will charge 15€ per hour for any additional hours required.  This would be deducted from your damage deposit.

• However if you would like us to do your end of stay clean after your departure we will be happy to do this for 45€.  Please let us know before the last day of your stay.

• If the BBQ is used it should be cleaned at the end of your stay.

 

River and Boat:

• The river Creuse is at the bottom of the garden, it can be deep and fast flowing in places, so swimming in the river is done so at your own risk.  Please ensure that children are supervised at all times near the river.  The owners shall not be liable for any loss or injury incurred in respect of the river.  There is also a swimming pool with water slides at the Leisure Park in Descartes.

• River fishing at the bottom of the garden is permitted with a valid permit, these can be purchased from the Rendez-vous des pecheurs fishing shop/cafe in Descartes or online.  Please leave the area as you find it and remove any rubbish.

• There is a rowing boat that is available for guests to use on the understanding that it is the guests who are responsible for their own safety and the owners shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury incurred by its use.  The guests shall be liable for any loss or damage to the boat.  Please refer to our recommendations on its use that are provided in the Guest Information Guide you will find in the Gite. 

 

Guests Privacy:

• Any personal information provided by our Guests will not be shared with any 3rd party.

• The privacy of our Guests while staying at our Gites is very important to us and is always respected.

• We reserve the right to enter the gite, this will only be done with your consent unless it is an emergency.

     Guests can purchase logs from us or from outlets in Chatellerault. We are happy to assist you with the lighting
     of the fire if you require and we are available to give advice. We expect the fire to be used responsibly and
     safely.

• The en-suite is fitted with a macerator toilet, so only human waste and toilet tissue are to be flushed away.

     Please ensure you read the Sign and Information Guide for items NOT to be flushed down the toilet. Misuse
     and damage will result in the repair cost being taken from the damage deposit.

• Smoke detectors are located on each floor and they are checked prior to guest’s arrival. Please report

     batteries themselves at any time.
